What can we realistically expect from the £2.4m?
I ride from North Wales to Chester at least twice a week and the only problem parts of my journey are Aston Hill - Queensferry, and Chester City Centre. Cycling into Chester is no problem, it's cycling through and around the city centre that is dreadful - no cycle lanes, roads too narrow for traffic volume, etc.
From the plans I've heard of I can't see the £2.4m even covering the Hoole Road bridge issue. Let alone funding additional bike parking and cycle lanes.
My opinion is that this is all pipe dreams unless some serious funding is sought and some hard line traffic reduction measures are taken.
